Are you ever in for a treat!

It's... last year's PETUNIAS!

I know, I know, I went totally petunia-mad last year. Well, on Sunday I finally got this year's petunias planted (shh... I decided I might send them out with the shalach manos, since sunflowers were a bit awkward). So now there are about 50-60 of them seeded downstairs.

Now, of course, I'm checking every few hours to see if they've sprouted.
From a Google search on "petunias germinate days":
~ "Seed will germinate according to color (pinks, blues and whites first - reds last) in 5 - 10 days"
~ "Petunia seed germinates in 7 to 14 days depending on soil and temperature conditions"
~ "Petunia seeds should germinate in 10 to 12 days"
~ "Germination should begin 2 to 3 days after sowing and be completed in 10 days."

So who the heck knows when they'll come up?
And that means I can keep checking every few hours, which I would anyway, even if I knew it would be a month.

If last year's pics are accurate, I planted them around Feb 10 and I think they were up a week later. Maybe I should keep records like a real gardener...? Naah!

There's a bit of a gap in the piccies between the first sprouts and the big sprawling plants. That's because the camera was broken, remember?
(if you don't, shame on you: go back and read those posts right NOW!)

Which reminds me: Maple Syrup time is right around the corner again. :-o

It's Heart Month: 3 days left to save lives!

Dear Friends & Family: Hi, everybody! Sorry I can’t stop by in person... you're a bit out of my area.  :-) We’re out walking up and down on our street on this beautiful afternoon to raise money for Heart & Stroke.  This cause is important to me (I won't say it's close to my heart , because that would be tacky!).  I hope you'll join me by donating online. Growing up, I watched as every single one of my grandparents' lives were shortened by heart disease and strokes, and my father had a defibrillator that saved his life on more than one occasion.  Heart disease and stroke kill 1 in 3 Canadians and are the #1 killer of women. Please click this link to be redirected to my main page at the Heart & Stroke website: http://tinyurl.com/AtlasHeart Thus ends my personal appeal.  Official information follows.  :-))) ----- Heart disease and stroke is the #1 killer of women - taking more women's lives than all forms of cancer combined. But no one is immune. Th
