Why would you want to do that?
Ha.  A better question might be, why wouldn't you want to do that?

About every 2 weeks, I'll send you a quick email with one or two Jewish parenting ideas, previews and notices about free book promotions.  A regular email, just like this.  No spam, no ads, none of that stuff I hate cluttering up my inbox, too.

I hope these ideas will be helpful to you, and that you'll write back and share tips, ideas and hacks that you've tried with your kids as well.  If it turns out it's not for you, unsubscribing is simple, with one click.

Here's what else you'll get:
  • Book previews - special freebies and advance "beta reader" copies
  • Discounts on books and other materials
  • Information and updates about new and upcoming books
  • A world of happiness and fun!
Each email comes directly from me to you via my easy-peasy mail service.  If you hit reply, you can chat with me, ask questions, whatever you want.

I love hearing from you, and ultimately, I have found with my other sites that a mailing list is a great way for us to stay in touch.

See you soon on the mailing list!

What do we tell our kids about Chabad and “Yechi”?

If I start by saying I really like Chabad, and adore the late Lubavitcher Rebbe, z"l, well... maybe you already know where I'm headed. Naomi Rivka has been asking lately what I think about Chabad.  She asks, in part, because she already knows how I feel.  She already knows I’m bothered, though to her, it’s mostly about “liking” and “not liking.”  I wish things were that simple. Our little neighbourhood in Israel has a significant Chabad presence, and Chabad conducts fairly significant outreach within the community.  Which sounds nice until you realize that this is a religious neighbourhood, closed on Shabbos, where some huge percentage of people are shomer mitzvos.  Sure, it’s mostly religious Zionist, and there are a range of observances, for sure, but we’re pretty much all religious here in some way or another. So at that point, this isn’t outreach but inreach .  Convincing people who are religious to be… what? A lot of Chabad’s efforts here are focused o...
